Excellent food! At very friendly prices. If you are in Zermatt, the traverse to Italy for lunch is a very good deal. While a cappuccino will cost you 7 CHF in the Swiss side, it's 2 Euros here. Or 12 Euros for a delicious plate of pasta. Or polenta, ossobuco, pizza. This is a tradicional Italian cantina at it's best.
Despite the queues... the canteen food here is cheap and amazing!!! Very well done simple home food. As soon as they finish some dishes, there will be no more of it until the following day, so make sure you do not go that late.

In the middle of the ski resort they have nice and big burger and very good tiramisu...
